Six arrested, drug paraphernalia seized during Niagara Falls police operation

On Friday, August 7, 2026, the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 2 District (Niagara Falls/Niagara-on-the-Lake) CORE (Community Oriented Response and Engagement) unit, with assistance from 2 District uniform officers, conducted an open-air drug initiative in the area of Main Street in the City of Niagara Falls.

During the initiative, CORE officers arrested 6 individuals who were observed to be consuming illicit substances in a public area. Officers seized over 20 glass pipes and various drug paraphernalia, and the individuals were provided information on available community resources, including treatment options.

In response to community concerns, the Niagara Regional Police Service has implemented a no-tolerance approach to open-air drug use.
