Food and drinks banned on TUI

Millions of Britons will head overseas this summer, but many are unaware that some foods can be banned on board certain airlines or even confiscated when entering Europe.

While easyJet, Ryanair, Jet2 and TUI all allow passengers to bring snacks onboard, restrictions still apply to items such as hot food, hot drinks, alcohol, and certain foods affected by UK and EU border rules. Here’s everything you need to know about the latest food and drink rules for easyJet, TUI, Ryanair and Jet2 in 2026:

TUI passengers on long-haul flights of seven hours or more receive meals and drinks as part of their ticket. On shorter flights, food and drinks can be purchased from the onboard café.

Passengers can generally bring their own food onboard, but TUI advises that cabin crew cannot refrigerate or heat food brought from home, other than warming baby bottles where appropriate. Passengers are also not permitted to consume alcohol they have brought themselves.

easyJet
easyJet continues to allow passengers to bring food into the cabin. However, liquid or semi-liquid foods such as soup, yoghurt, custard and sauces are subject to airport security liquid restrictions.

Passengers can also bring hot drinks onboard if they have been purchased after airport security and are carried in a secure cup with a lid. Different countries may have their own restrictions on food imports, so travellers should check the rules at their destination before flying.
