An easyJet flight had to make an unexpected stop at Manchester Airport after a passenger suffered a medical emergency. A spokesperson for the airport said the plane had to divert because a passenger with a heart problem was feeling unwell.
The plane, an Airbus A320-214, was flying from Inverness in Scotland to London Gatwick. It took off just before 6.40am.
A plane spotter and student pilot in Manchester said they were ready to see the plane land at 7.35am. An easyJet spokesperson confirmed that flight EZY846 from Inverness to London Gatwick had to divert to Manchester because a passenger needed urgent medical help.
The passenger was met by medical services in Manchester and the flight carried on to Gatwick later that morning. The spokesperson added that the safety and wellbeing of their customers and crew is always easyJet’s highest priority, reports the Mirror.
