A former ex-girlfriend of American television presenter and film producer Ryan Seacrest was seriously injured after swallowing shards of plastic from a beverage she consumed onboard an American Airlines flight. The former girlfriend allegedly allowed the shards in a beverage served onboard a flight to Rome, it is claimed in her lawsuit against the Fort Worth-based carrier.

Shana Wall, a former contestant from The Amazing Race, was onboard an American Airlines Boeing 777-200ER flight on May 1, from New York John F Kennedy Airport (JFK) destined for Leonardo da Vinci Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO), Italy, where she claims the shards of plastic were in a drink she consumed, injuring her throat, esophagus, vocal cords, and digestive system.

Shana Wall is an actress and model who grew up in California and dated TV personality Ryan Seacrest in the early 2000s. She has appeared in popular shows such as Married… with Children and Entourage.

Ongoing medical care and internal damage as a result of injury
As reported by the NY Post, Wall, 51, was confined to bed and unable to work after the incident on the Italy-bound flight. Ongoing medical care is now required due to the internal damage, as claimed in a Manhattan Supreme Court Lawsuit filed on Monday.

In Wall’s claim filed, she has stressed that “[American Airlines] had a duty to provide beverages and food that was uncontaminated and fit for consumption,” the actress and model contended, and “created the dangerous, defective and unsafe condition on the airplane.” Wall is looking to claim unspecified damages for negligence.

Wall has thousands of followers on her various social media platforms. She is a culinary school graduate who documents and shares her world travels. She frequently offers private wine tastings and classes and has traveled the world to feature aged wines in picturesque vineyards.
