A United Airlines airplane flying to Boston from Houston stopped at a North Virginia airport Sunday because of a customer’s medical issue.

An airline news release said a customer was experiencing a medical problem on flight 2477 traveling from Houston to Boston. Airline officials did not disclose details of the medical problem.

The flight landed at Washington Dulles International Airport in Dulles, Virginia.

Flight tracking company RadarBox posted a radio traffic recording from the flight in which a crew member described the situation as “really bad,” adding that “the crew is vomiting and passengers all around are asking for masks,” USA Today reported.

Flight 2477 was delayed a little more than five hours, according to United’s flight status. The airplane received a “deep clean,” United officials said in a statement.

The flight had 155 passengers and six crew members. However, neither the passengers nor crew needed medical assistance when the plane landed in Virginia, according to United.

The plane reportedly left Dulles and landed in Boston Sunday evening.

In early June, another United aircraft experienced passengers falling ill on Flight 1528 traveling from Vancouver to Houston after being on a cruise ship.
