Pelham break-and-enter suspect arrested in Welland

Detectives from the 3 District (Welland / Pelham) Street Crime Unit have been investigating this break and enter since it occurred on Sept. 3, 2024.

A media release was issued asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect on Sept. 5, 2024. Investigators subsequently received information that led to the identity of the suspect.

On Sept. 5, 2024, the suspect was located and arrested in the City of Welland. Onil Richard Labbe (66 yrs.) of Welland has been arrested and charged with the Criminal Code offence of:

break enter and commit/dwelling house
Labbe was later release on a Form 10 Undertaking with a future court date.

On Sept. 3 at approximately 10:10 a.m. 3 District (Welland/Fonthill) uniform officers attended the Fenwick Berry Farm located at 1308 Balfour Street in the town of Pelham for a belated break-and-enter call.

Investigation revealed that on Sept. 3 at approximately 9:30 a.m., an unknown male suspect entered the bunkhouse at this location and stole an undisclosed amount of money out of multiple rooms.

The suspect is described as:

White
Male
50-60yrs
5-foot-6
Thin build
Long grey hair
Wearing a black jacket, black shirt, blue jeans, black shoes and a brown/grey baseball hat
Detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect in this matter.
