An EasyJet flight from Antalya to London Gatwick was forced to make an emergency landing in Bari, Italy, after a 16-year-old girl allegedly attacked cabin crew and attempted to open the aircraft door mid-flight.

The incident began when the teenager confronted a 10-year-old passenger over coughing, leading to a series of violent outbursts. She reportedly threatened to stab staff while being restrained by crew members. The pilot diverted the aircraft to Bari, where the girl was arrested by awaiting police. Passengers were stranded overnight in Italy, with the flight rescheduled for the following day.

This event is part of a series of recent disruptions on EasyJet flights. In October 2023, a flight from Dalaman to Liverpool made an emergency landing in Venice due to a disruptive passenger who attacked a man with a carrier bag.

EasyJet has reiterated its zero-tolerance policy towards abusive or threatening behavior onboard, emphasizing that passenger safety and wellbeing are top priorities.
