CVG flights experience delays, cancelations ahead of Tropical Storm Debby. What to know

Flight cancelations are underway Sunday as Tropical Storm Debby moves toward the Florida coast.

State and federal officials are preparing ahead of Debby’s impending landfall on Florida’s western coast. The storm has slowly been making its way through the Gulf of Mexico since late last week.

As a result, flights are being canceled across the country, including at the Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport, better known as CVG.

CVG flight cancelations amid Tropical Storm Debby
More than 2,000 flights are delayed or canceled nationwide Sunday, according to Flight Aware, a flight tracking site.

There are 10 flights canceled and 61 delayed Sunday at CVG as of 2:15 p.m.

Most delayed flights will impact those traveling to Dallas-Forth Worth, airport in Texas; Orlando, Tampa and Fort Lauderdale airports in Florida; Myrtle Beach in South Carolina; and Boston.

Some major impacted airlines include United Airlines, Allegiant Air, Delta, Southwest, Alaska Airlines and Frontier Airlines.

You can check your flight’s status on CVG’s website before heading to the airport. Monday flights are all scheduled as of Sunday afternoon.

As a result of the weather, these airlines are issuing waivers that allow impacted customers to change their flights without penalty, USA TODAY reports:
