An American Airlines flight AA1552 operating from Dallas to Colorado Springs declared an emergency shortly after takeoff and returned to Dallas on 21 July 2024.

The flight had made its departure from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) when flight crew squawked transponder code 7700 passing through 2900 feet.

The climb procedure was then terminated and a direct return to Dallas Fort Worth was negotiated by flight crew.
