Allegiant Air Cancels Flights To These 35 Airports: See Full List Now
Between now and May 2027, Allegiant Air plans scheduled flights to 123 airports, all of which are, of course, in the United States. Cirium Diio data shows that the top five airports for departures are Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB), Tampa St. Petersburg, Punta Gorda, Phoenix Mesa, and Las Vegas.
Nothing stays the same. In the past decade, the ultra-low-cost carrier (ULCC) has stopped flying to 35 airports. Some, such as Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Oakland International Airport (OAK), and San Diego International Airport (SAN), were recently removed from the airline’s network and have been discussed. But most have not.
Allegiant’s network between 2016 and 2026 was explored. This process identified the 35 airports to which the ULCC no longer flies. They collectively had over 51,400 departures, with the top ten facilities, shown below, accounting for over three quarters of them (76%).
Six of the top ten airports last saw Allegiant in 2025 or 2026. One exception is Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE). The ULCC’s final service there was four years ago, in 2022. In the few years that flights existed, 15 routes were available: Austin, Charleston, Destin-Fort Walton Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Jacksonville, Myrtle Beach, Nashville, New Orleans, Norfolk, Phoenix Mesa, Punta Gorda, Sarasota, Savannah, SFB, and Tampa St. Petersburg.
While Allegiant no longer flies to CLE, it does serve Akron-Canton Airport (CAK), which is roughly an hour away by car. Nine of the 15 routes operate from CAK. Breeze Airways also chose to fly to CAK rather than to CLE. The pair account for 41% of CAK’s departures but, because of higher-capacity equipment (especially Allegiant), 62% of the seats for sale.

Allegiant’s 11th-20th Most-Served Airports That Have Been Removed
Two airports stopped seeing the ULCC in 2025: Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) and El Paso International Airport (ELP). Allegiant had operated eight routes from MSP: Asheville, Destin-Fort Walton Beach, Knoxville, LAX, Phoenix Mesa, Punta Gorda, Sarasota, and West Palm Beach.
The US Department of Transportation shows that 400,400 round-trip passengers were carried between 2021 and 2025, for an overall load factor of 78.5%. The load was lower than Allegiant’s overall result across its full network in this period (82.1%). Of course, now that Allegiant has acquired Sun Country Airlines and the latter’s operations will, in time, be merged with the parent, MSP will become the carrier’s new most-served airport.
Recall that Allegiant has stopped flying to 35 airports since 2016. Based on departures, the final 15 airports are summarized below. With only 3,600 departures in total, they collectively had 73% fewer services than LAX. Some were only served for a very short period, while most had few routes.
Intriguing entries include Honolulu International Airport (HNL) and Anchorage International Airport (ANC). HNL was only part of Allegiant’s network for a comparatively short period. The ULCC used the Boeing 757-200 to fly from multiple airports on the US mainland to Hawaii’s busiest airport. Meanwhile, the airline had limited service from Bellingham, which is located between Seattle and Vancouver, and ANC. The DOT indicates that just 67.2% of seats were filled. No wonder it only lasted for a season.
