The flight, carrying 181 passengers, left Corfu at around 12.45pm on Monday.EasyJet passengers were left terrified after a flight “plummeted 200m” leaving two cabin crew injured after being rocked by turbulence just 20 minutes into the flight.

It’s believed two cabin crew members had been preparing to serve food when they were slammed against the aircraft’s walls. It’s understood their injuries were serious enough for the pilot to be forced to divert the flight to Rome’s Fiumicino airport, so they could be treated.An easyJet spokesperson told the Record:

“Flight EZY8120 from Corfu to London Gatwick on 19 August experienced turbulence which unfortunately resulted in two cabin crew members being injured. As a result the Captain took the decision to divert to Rome where the crew members were met by medical services.Italy’s air safety agency, ANSV, said it had launched an investigation to determine whether the turbulence was a sudden and unforeseeable event, which is known as “clear air turbulence.”
