IHG InterContinental Ambassador Program Price Change From $200 To $225 On October 2, 2024

By | August 3, 2024

The InterContinental Ambassador is a paid program, and its benefits only apply to stays at InterContinental hotels. However, it also comes with the Platinum status with IHG One Rewards, which benefits apply chainwide.

You may wonder why most companies send their emails that negatively affect members on Friday and usually hide the main announcement in the footnote.

At least, IHG is very clear here that the price of the Ambassador program will increase by $25 or 5,000 points to $225 or 45,000 points.

The price has stayed the same for a very long time, but the benefits of the Ambassador program itself are not as good as they were 15 years ago. The F&B credit barely covers anything, and the Free Weekend Night Voucher is hardly “free.”

For years, the main benefit of the Ambassador was the renewal of your IHG One Rewards Spire Elite or later Diamond without meeting the official requalification criteria.

I recently let my Ambassador membership lapse for 6+ months but renewed it the other week at the InterContinental Bangkok Sukhumvit.

I will do an update about the Ambassador program’s pros and cons next week. So, stay tuned.
