Former world’s number one tennis player Roger Federer is living his life’s second innings in full swing. After a glorious professional career of 24 years, Federer has embraced his retirement wholeheartedly. Despite being frustrated for leaving the sport he was so passionate about, the Swiss legend has found something else to vest his in: his family.

In a recent talk with Vogue, the tennis maestro detailed how his routined life has transformed into something more with fewer schedules. Although he used to travel on the tour before, traveling with his wife Mirka and their four kids must be a different experience. “We got back from Sicily yesterday—we had a family vacation there: golf and tennis and some football and swimming and all that stuff. We had the best weather, and the food was fantastic,” he said. Federer then revealed that he returned to the Swiss mountains with his family after spending quality time in Sicily.
“Now we’re in the mountains. What have I been doing today? I have been running around with the kids—Lenny [he’s 10] wanted to do some gardening. We had lunch on the terrace, and then we were drawing a tennis court out of chalk outside in the back, on the pavement, and we played mini tennis, touch tennis, with a soft ball. It’s been great fun,” said Federer. This former world’s number one ATP star’s statements showcase that he might retired from professional tennis but he hasn’t parted ways with sports. In fact, Federer also seemed to be enjoying sightseeing with his family.Not just that but Federer also won the hearts of millions for trying to pass his values to his kids. “I wanted to see how I felt to be as a quidam at a tennis competition. I felt very good. I like this sport and I don’t want to go away from it, They have quite a character now. Even if we are very close, it is important that I let them have their experiences. The most important thing is that I pass on the right values to them, especially in today’s ultra-connected world where the internet is omnipresent. I’m trying to be a good father,” he said.
