
A 16-year-old driver died Monday after she lost control of her car and collided with another vehicle in Niagara Falls.
Just after 6:30 p.m., Niagara Regional Police were called to Thorold Stone and Beechwood roads for a report of a serious collision.
Their investigation determined the 16-year-old girl was driving westbound on Thorold Stone in a black Chevrolet Cruze when she lost control of the vehicle and entered oncoming traffic. The vehicle collided with a grey Hyundai Accent being driven eastbound.

The 16-year-old was taken to hospital where she died of her injuries. A 32-year-old woman who was driving the other vehicle was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Detectives with the collision reconstruction
On Monday, Jan. 27, at approximately 6:34 p.m., 2 District (Niagara Falls/Niagara on-the-Lake) uniform officers with the Niagara Regional Police Service attended the area of Thorold Stone Road and Beechwood Road in Niagara Falls for a serious collision.
Investigation revealed a 16-year-old female was operating a gray Hyandai Accent westbound on Thorold Stone Road when a 32-year-old was operating a black Chevrolet Cruz eastbound on Thorold Stone Road. As a result, the 16-year-old female lost control and entered oncoming traffic, colliding with the other vehicle.
Tragically the 16-year-old female succumbed to her injuries at a local hospital.
The 32 year old female was transported to a local hospital with minor physical injuries.
Detectives with the Collision Reconstruction Unit with the Niagara Regional Police Service have taken carriage of the investigation.
